Statement by HDGH Regarding Appointment of Supervisor

Windsor, ON - We were informed this morning that the Ontario Ministry of Health has officially appointed Ken Deane today as the provincial supervisor of this hospital.

We fully support this move by the province. We had asked for full-time assistance given Malcolm Maxwell had been acting as facilitator in a part-time role. This will help us implement recommendations of the August report much more quickly.

We cannot speculate on what, if any, changes will be made to the Board or senior team, including those involving personnel. Ultimately, such decisions will be up to the supervisor to recommend.

It's important to note that this move is intended to help the Board, senior administration and medical leadership, to move the hospital forward. It is not at all a statement about patient care, which has been provincially recognized as high quality here at HDGH, and will continue to be so. The community can be assured they will continue to receive excellent care at this hospital.
