Celebrating Innovative Surgical Techniques on Doctor’s Day

What: Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital will celebrate Doctor’s Day with a discussion about minimally invasive surgical procedures, which reduce recovery times and post-operative pain for patients. The event will include a demonstration of one such procedure which only HDGH performs in the Windsor-Essex region for those suffering from serious back pain, and exemplifies the modern techniques being used at HDGH for a growing number of patients.

When: 9:30 am, Wed., March 30, 2011

Where: Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital, Conference Room 8 (located in the administrative hallway near the Ouellette St. entrance).

Who: Speakers include:

·         Dr. Gord Vail, HDGH Chief of Staff

·         Dr. Sophia Thomas, HDGH President of Medical Staff

·         Dr. Bill Taylor, HDGH Medical Director of Surgery

·         A video presentation of an innovative surgical procedure which will include comments from Dr. Dante Morassutti, a top HDGH neurosurgeon.

A video copy of the surgical procedure will be available to media for broadcast and/or Internet use.
