Photo OpportunityVolunteers Celebrated at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital
WHAT: Every day, volunteers at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital enrich the lives of hundreds of patients and their families by giving generously of their time, and contributing to the well-being of our healthcare community, the vitality of our services, and the quality of patients' experiences here. In recognition of their outstanding commitment to providing quality patient care, volunteers at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital will be celebrated at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon.Event Highlights:
· Dom Mandarino will present a cheque in the amount of $225,000 to the Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital Foundation as the fourth installment of their $1 million pledge to the Beyond Medicine Campaign. An additional cheque for $10,000 (these funds came solely from the tips jar at the Lobby Coffee Bar) will be presented for the purchase of much needed blanket warmers to enhance patient comfort. · Hours of Service pins will be presented to volunteers who have completed 250 hours and upwards to 22,000 hours last year· Honouring six volunteers who have turned 80 years old and still volunteering· Special tribute to Rebecca Pennycook, who turned 90 in January and is still volunteering at the Gift Shop · Ken Deane, HDGH Supervisor will pay tribute to our Volunteers.
