Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare Urges Public to Take Precautions when Visiting Loved Ones

WINDSOR, ON – Due to the increase in influenza cases in the community Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare is urging the public to take extra precautions when visiting their loved ones.

Individuals who are experiencing flu-like symptoms which can include fever, chills, sore throat, cough, runny nose, body aches, and fatigue should consider staying home.

Loved ones should limit the frequency of their visits if at all possible, as well as the number of visitors. HDGH encourages everyone to practice routine hand washing with soap and water.  It is not too late to receive the flu vaccination. Please contact your Doctor’s office or local drugstore to get vaccinated.

For more information, please view the Windsor-Essex Health Unit influenza brochure (http://www.wechealthunit.org/immunization/influenza-flu/resources/JTF_FluShot2013.pdf).

HDGH is committed to the safety of their patients, staff and the Windsor-Essex Community.
