Pre-Registration for Bob Probert Memorial Ride at Place Concorde

Windsor, ON - Organizers of this Sunday’s inaugural Bob Probert Memorial Ride: In Memory of #24, The Enforcer, will be holding a pre-registration for motorcyclists and their passengers on Friday, June 24, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Place Concorde.

Motorcyclists and their passengers who wish to participate in this great event in support of the angioplasty program at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital can pre-register at Place Concorde, 7515 Forest Glade Drive. The registration fee is $30 per rider and $20 per passenger. For every $100 received in pledges, one rider is free.

About the Ride

The Ride is named after the late Bob Probert, a local hockey icon who played in the National Hockey League for 16 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks. With Windsor-Essex being a cardiac hot-spot and cardiac illness being the cause of Bob’s death, Bob’s family has taken up the fight to provide our community with state-of-the-art cardiac care facilities at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital.

The formalities before the riders depart from the Hôtel-Dieu Grace parking lot (corner of Erie and Goyeau) will take place at 9:30 AM on Sunday, June 26th. Riders will launch at 10 a.m. and will follow a route through Essex County and finish at Place Concord, where their entry fee will get them into Sunday’s Bluesin ’n’ Cruisin Blues Fest.

Former Detroit Red Wing and family friend Chris Chelios will be the honourary road captain and will be joined by current and former NHL and OHL stars to support the angioplasty program at the Hospital. Among those confirmed to be in attendance are former NHLers Dave Hutchison, Tony Amonte, Kyle VandenBussche, Sheldon Kennedy and Eddie Mio, along with Windsor natives Ryan Wilson of the Colorado Avalanche and Matt Martin of the New York Islanders.

The Probert Ride will also feature a little show biz glamour with an appearance by Dani Probert’s sister Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, who plays the character of Steffy Forrester on the daytime Emmy-winning soap opera The Bold and Beautiful.

The Probert Ride is a partnership between Hôtel-Dieu Grace, CAW Local 444 and 2458 to help build a two-suite Cardiac Cath Lab for the angioplasty program at Hôtel-Dieu Grace.
