WHAT: Families visiting loved ones in Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit will soon have a more comfortable, warm family waiting area to enjoy.  Thanks to this June’s A Day for a Life II golf tournament $21,000 will be presented to the Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital Foundation to transform the current ICU waiting room into the Trevor Louis Funkenhauser Gift of Life Family Waiting Room.  Organized by Gunther and Judith Funkenhauser and family, A Day for a Life II Honouring Trevor Louis Funkenhauser is an annual golf tournament held in memory of their son and in celebration of the gift of life through organ donation.  Following Trevor’s passing in 2006, his organs were donated to save the lives of three people desperately needing an organ transplant.  Through the Day for a Life golf tournament the Funkenhauser family advocates for organ donation while raising funds for local non-profit organizations.
