Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital Staff Proud to Support Community Programs
WHAT: Staff at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital will donate cheques to the Salvation Army Christmas Dinner and the Downtown Mission, raised through annual Staff Christmas Luncheons, as well as canned goods, personal care items and clothing to Street Help/Unit 7.
This latest spirit of giving comes less than two months after HDGH staff raised more than $12,500 and filled two ambulances with healthy snacks to support the Jumpstart Nutrition Program at St. Angela and Frank Begley Schools. Last month, staff contributed another $18,352 to this year's United Way Campaign, and last week, they donated a mountain of new toys for Sparky's Toy Drive, The Salvation Army and the Teamster's Local 879.
The hospital and staff are proud to be in the position to help others in need within our community throughout the year and in particular during the holiday season.
WHO: Ken Deane, Supervisor will provide remarks and present cheques to Major Glenys Butt of the Salvation Army and Chandra Dass, Executive Director of the Downtown Mission. Christine Wilson, the Administrator at Street Help/Unit 7 will also be on hand to accept donations for the homeless.
WHEN: Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: The cheque presentations will take place in the hospital Cafeteria during the Staff Christmas Luncheon.
