The Hôtel-Dieu Grace Health Sciences Library is located at the 1030 Ouellette Avenue site on the main floor across from the patient elevators.
Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The Hôtel-Dieu Grace Library is open to HDGH staff, physicians, medical, nursing and allied health students. All others wishing to use the library should call, (519) 973-4411 ext. 3178 or FAX: (519) 973-0642, for an appointment.
The Hôtel-Dieu Grace Medical Library offers a number of services to meet the information needs of HDGH staff, physicians and students.
We Provide Document Delivery
This service is only available to the HDGH staff and physicians. Clients may request books and journals from the library.
Items not available in the HDGH library may be requested from other locations. Materials usually arrive within three to four days. Requests can be made by email (tjanik@hdgh.org), in person by filling out a request form, or by telephone (519) 973-4411 ext.3178. Please provide as much information as possible.
We Conduct Literature Searches
The library offers literature searches on both in-house and on-line databases. Clients are billed a flat fee per search plus the actual costs of online time if applicable. Printouts are ready for pickup within 24 hours.
We Set Up SDI Searches
An SDI ( Selective Dissemination of Information) is a saved computer search strategy which is executed against the latest database update. An SDI is an excellent way to monitor the newest development in your area of interest.
An SDI strategy is run against our in-house medical and allied health databases. Your search can be emailed to you or a print version sent via hospital internal mail.
We Offer Training On Medline
Group or individual sessions on the hospital's databases are held in the HDGH library for HDGH staff and physicians.
Sessions can be booked at mutually convenient times. Please call 973-4411 ext 3178 to reserve a time.
Our Collection
The books and journals in our library are selected to meet the programme groups and needs of our clients at HDGH. Materials from the library may be borrowed by HDGH library patrons upon presentation of a valid HDGH identification badge. Journals may only be used on site. All books, with the exception of reference books may be signed out for two weeks.
Libraries belonging to the Windsor Area Health Libraries Association, CHLA, MDMLG, or MISHULS wishing to borrow materials may do so through DOCLINE.

Computer Lab
Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital Medical Library houses a computer lab for patron use. The lab offers on-site Internet access, databases, full text journals and e-books access, as well as an automated library catalog (OPAC) to our book & journal collection. The following software is available:
