Hôtel Dieu Grace Hospital (HDGH) is recognized by the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) as a Best Practice Spotlight Organization. This recognition aligns with the strategic directions of HDGH. Thus, nursing practice at HDGH is guided by over twenty RNAO Best Practice Guidelines (BPGs). Each day, HDGH nurses area champions of client centred, evidence informed practice excellence. HDGH nurses are also actively involved in the creation of new knowledge and development of BPGs. For example, they participate in research projects with university faculty from across Ontario and are members of expert panels with RNAO in the development of new BPGs. As an organization HDGH supports nurses to participate in RNAO fellowships and is an active member of the provincial Nursing Best Practice Research Unit. HDGH honors the importance of creating a rich environment that supports evidence-informed practice, strategic change and professional development of nurses. HDGH is honored to be among a select group 21 healthcare organizations in Ontario acknowledged as champions of evidence-informed best practice.
