Liz Haugh, Director
Liz retired from a lengthy career in public health as Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Health Promotion at the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit and as Adjunct Associate Professor with the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Nursing. Since retirement, she has maintained her interest in governance activities. Most recently she completed her term as President of the board at John McGivney Children's Centre and as a Member of the Ethics Review Board for Public Health Ontario.
She holds an MScN (Admin) from the University of Western Ontario, two undergrad degrees from the University of Windsor and she did her basic nursing education at St. Joes in London, ON.
Throughout her career she has had several governance leadership opportunities as President of the College of Nurses of Ontario, where she served on Council for two terms and was chair of the Discipline Committee, also President of Ontario Public Health Association and our local Children’s Aid Society. She has been involved at the board member and committee level for several nursing organizations such as RNAO, where she was granted emeritus membership, Sigma Theta Tau Honour Society of Nursing, ANDSOOHA, and the ONA as well as the Association for Local Public Health Agencies (alPHa) which granted her a Distinguished Service Award. She has volunteered for the WSO and WIFF.
Liz is active in her community of Windsor-Essex where she currently sits on her Condo Board and serves on the Board of Directors of the Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare and the Board of Directors of the Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare Foundation. She enjoys regular yoga classes and gardening, and is a member of a bowling league, bridge club, book club, and a weekly walking group. Her five grandchildren and two grand dogs keep her entertained in her spare time.
