HDGH is a unique community hospital offering services in Mental Health & Addictions; Rehabilitative Care; Complex Medical and Palliative Care; and Children and Youth Mental Health. We offer a unique blend of services including but not limited to community and home based services. In collaboration with our healthcare and inter-sectorial partners, HDGH is providing care in new ways and in new locations throughout the region to address barriers, improve access and patient outcomes, and improve the overall patient experience.
Statement of Commitment to Accessibility at HDGH
“In fulfilling the Mission of Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, we are committed to providing an accessible environment to all who come through our doors, seek and use our services, and access our information.
As a public healthcare organization in Ontario, we respect the standards and regulations set forth under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
It is important to us to provide a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone.
We acknowledge that this is a shared responsibility.
This Statement of Commitment is our promise to listen, ask, learn, and invite the community we serve into the conversation.
We will act in good faith to make accessibility a reality for all.”
Does the above Statement of Commitment to Accessibility speak to you? Are you interested in exploring the opportunity to be a volunteer committee member? If yes, we would love to hear from you.
The Accessibility Advisory Committee at HDGH is currently recruiting volunteer members (HDGH staff, Community providers, Patient & Family Representatives) to join the Committee.
We are seeking:
- Community members who have either been a patient or a family member/caregiver for a patient with lived experience who have received care at HDGH. This can include services received as either an inpatient or out-patient at HDGH.
- HDGH staff members with lived experience or who have experience supporting persons living with disabilities. Committee to include one member from the frontline Plant Operations and Maintenance team.
- Representative(s) from community organizations in Windsor-Essex serving and advocating on behalf of persons living with disabilities
The Accessibility Advisory Committee reports to the Mission Achievement Team at HDGH and to the Board of Directors.
This is a volunteer committee. Members must be able to commit to meeting three (3) times per year (excluding December, July, and August) for up to two (2) hours per meeting. Once recruitment of new members is complete, the Committee will decide on a mutually agreeable meeting schedule of dates and times.
