Caring for the Caregivers Study
*NOTE* THE CARING FOR THE CAREGIVER SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED. IN THE UPCOMING MONTHS WE WILL BE IN TOUCH WITH MORE INFORMATION ON THIS STUDY
From advocating, transportation, financial assistance, to social and emotional supports, the role of a caregiver for those with mental illness and addiction struggles has an important and often critical impact on the wellbeing of individuals living with mental illness and addictions.
As a proven leader in mental health care service delivery, Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare’s Mental Health and Addiction (MH&A) Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) is spearheading the “Caring for the Caregivers” Project. Funded by an Igniting Discovery Grant from WE-SPARK Health Institute and working with partners at the University of Windsor Faculty of Nursing, the team is conducting a community needs assessment to ask caregivers to adults with mental illness and/or addictions their experiences in this critical role.
The 20-minute self-administered online survey is open to those age 18 years or older. The option to participate in a one-on-one interview with the research team is also available by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or indicating this within the survey itself. Those who participate in the interview will receive a $10 giftcard for their time.
