Putting Heart and Soul into our community
Mike Rohrer was a strong, selfless man who loved his family, his church, and his boat, with his community at the core of it all.
On Saturday, May 20th 2017, just shy of a year since Mike's unexpected and devastating death, the impact Mike had on his community was felt at the inaugural Michael C. Rohrer Heart and Soul Walk.
Close to 400 participants gathered at Lakewood Park in Tecumseh to celebrate Mike's life with a 5km walk through the town Mike was so proud to have had a hand in developing as well-known Councillor.
The sun peeked through the clouds as Mike's family took to the podium to say their thanks. "Mike did everything with his whole heart and soul," said his sister Stacey. "I know that if he were here right now looking out at all of you, he would be crying. As Mike always said, 'Thank you kindly.'" It truly was a 'beauty of a day'.
Proceeds raised by the Walk will benefit the Cardiac Wellness and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare.
