Heart Month celebrations continue at HDGH; $33,000 donated for improved cardiac rehabilitation equipment

Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare’s Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program have reason to celebrate. Thanks to the generous support of Windsor’s DJ Galvanizing Corporation, six new pieces of workout equipment have been acquired including three Precor treadmills and three Precor recumbent bikes.  The new equipment, made possible by a $33,000 donation, is utilized by program participants looking to improve their cardiac health following a cardiac event.

The machines are already onsite and benefitting participants in the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs.  Representatives from DJ Galvanizing visited Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare on Friday to see the newly acquired equipment in action.
The $33,000 donation by DJ Galvanizing and its employees follows a $50,000 contribution toward the Cornerstone of Caring Campaign. "There is a real need in the Windsor area to support the mental health and rehabilitation needs of this community,” states Paul Dunmore, President, DJ Galvanizing Corporation.  “DJ Galvanizing and our employees wanted to have a direct impact on the quality of care available in the area. The mental health and rehab facilities at the Tayfour Campus are state of the art and we are pleased to be a part of it.”
According to Jason Petro, Coordinator of the Cardiac Wellness Program at HDGH, DJ Galvanizing’s donation has “kick started the greening process of the program’s exercise equipment, originally purchased 13.5 years ago. The new equipment offers improved technology, requires less maintenance and has a proven track record of durability, all while offering improved patient safety with improved ergonomics and design.”
