Josh Nicholas
Josh is a young professional born and raised in Windsor-Essex County. He recently graduated from the University of Windsor where he obtained his Honours Bachelor of Commerce with a concentration in finance. Since graduation, he has started working at CIBC on their Commercial Banking team where he holds the role of associate. In this role, he is responsible for supporting businesses in the Windsor-Essex region through financing and support.
He was previously the President of Enactus Windsor, a student-lead organization at the University of Windsor focused on improving the social, environmental and economic health of Windsor-Essex through community projects, social enterprise development and crowdfunding events. He was responsible for leading a team of 140 students and operating 4 community projects that focused on entrepreneurship, women empowerment and youth empowerment. Through this volunteer role, Josh gained governance, leadership, and risk management experience. Starting the new year, he will be serving on the founding Board of Directors for this organization.
While in University, Josh gained practical experience through experiential learning courses, a research term and a teaching assistant role. He worked with a local Charity to provide recommendations on how to build capacity through a social enterprise course and gained consulting experience by providing two for-profit businesses with consulting mandates. Lastly, Josh provided research for Dr. Wren Montgomery focused on corporate environmental communication in the Winery Industry and acted as a Teaching Assistant for a Sales Management class with Professor Celso Oliveira.
