Dr. Pat Montaleone
Dr. Pat Montaleone was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario. He is married with 2 children. After graduating with Great Distinction from the University of Windsor, with Honours in Biology, Dr.Montaleone attended the Schulich School of Medicine in London. He remained in London for the first 3 years of his Psychiatry residency, and then returned to Windsor for his final 2 years. He has been practicing Psychiatry in Windsor since July 2016.
His practice is focused on severe mental illness, while also providing medical education. He is involved in HDGH programs including Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Wellness Program for Extended Psychosis (WPEP), Centre for Problem Gambling and Digital Dependency (CPGDD) and the General Adult Psychiatry Clinic. He has been committed to serving marginalized populations as well, including past collaborations with Street Health and Sandwich Community Centre, and ongoing care to some vulnerable rest home patients in Essex County.
At HDGH, he has contributed to committees including the Creating Tomorrow Together Advisory Committee (CTTAC) and the CEO Advisory Council. He is currently the President of the Professional Staff Association. In 2019 he was recognized as the HDGH Physician of the Year.
He currently serves as the Academic Director for the Windsor branch of the Schulich Psychiatry residency program, being involved in resident selection, curriculum development, and physician retention to the area. He has collaborated with the Windsor Family Medicine residency program to create a Psychiatry rotation geared for Family Medicine residents, to help educate Windsor’s primary care practitioners about mental health. From his presence at the Windsor medical school’s groundbreaking ceremony, to helping pave the way for the Windsor Psychiatry residency program, to his current role as Academic Director, his commitment to medical education in Windsor has always been a top priority.
