Sr. Cecile LeBoeuf Spirit of Philanthropy Award
For 66 years, Sister Cecile LeBoeuf dedicated her life to serving the needs of the sick and elderly as a Religious Hospitaller of St. Joseph. She was the very first Lab Technician to be trained at the Hôtel-Dieu Hospital, going on to become the Supervisor of the Lab for 18 years. She served as Sister Superior for 2 six-year terms at the hospital and one term at Villa Maria and was an active member of the hospital auxiliary for many years. An avid fundraiser for Villa Maria and HDGH, Sister LeBoeuf also holds the distinction of being the last Sister to serve as Hospital Administrator before Roman Mann was hired in 1968.
Sr. LeBoeuf spent countless hours in the hospital lobby working the Tree of Lights sales and donation table and selling paper hearts for heart month. She was forever dissatisfied with how much she raised, always hoping for more. Little did she know what a huge impact she made not only with her fundraising efforts but with her smile and kind words.
The Sr. Cecile LeBoeuf Spirit of Philanthropy Award is presented by the HDGH Foundation to an individual or group in recognition of their outstanding commitment to Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare and the community.
