As you know Rick Meloche was an integral part of our cycling community. He competed in marathons and Ironmans, and was always up for epic challenges. Rick suddenly passed in November of 2019. Last year we were able to honour Rick the best way we knew how, stretching our physical and mental limits riding distances challenged us, while generating funds and raising awareness of cardiovascular disease. Again last year over 100 riders of all levels participated.
Join us on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the Libro Centre in Amherstburg for a road cycling challenge - you pick the distance: 30 km, 50 km, 100 km, 200 km... whatever will stretch your limits.
Ride in Rick's honour, share a laugh, raise funds and awareness for Cardiac Wellness. Anyone who is comfortable riding 30 km or more are welcome to join us. Don't wish to ride, but want to donate? Please do!
Details: All riders will receive a day of riding, all the Polar Joe Classic Cold Brew/Gruppo Nutrition sports drinks you require for the ride, and a lunch and snacks generously donated by East Side Riders Cycling Club and Provincial Chrysler. We ask that all riders please make a donation of minimum $50 in memory of Rick that will go to support the Cardiac Wellness program at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare. All donors will receive a charitable tax receipt.
We are looking for groups of 2 - 10 riders. If you don't have a group, we will help find one for you. All riders/groups of riders that are riding 50 km or more will start between 8-10 am, the 30 km riders will be starting at 10 am.
To sign up, send an email to Cynthia ([email protected]) and/or Darcy ([email protected]) and make a donation (details below). If you are riding, indicate who you will be riding with, desired start time and planned distance.
Thanks so much for being a part of this. We can't wait to see you out there!
