Vincent Georgie
Dr Vincent Georgie is the Executive Director & Chief Programmer of the Windsor International Film Festival (WIFF). He joined the Board of Directors of WIFF in 2009 and served as Director of Marketing. In 2013, he was appointed Executive Director & Chief Programmer. WIFF is the largest volunteer-run film festival in Canada, an official partner of the Toronto International Film Festival, and now welcomes an audience of 45,000+ to Windsor-Essex annually.
Dr Georgie proudly joined the University of Windsor in 2009, where he has served as Associate-Vice President External (2020-2023), proudly opening the historic Armouries as Director (2017-2020), leading the Odette MBA Program (2013-2017) and continues his permanent role as a professor of Marketing (since 2009).
He was elected to serve on both the University of Windsor Board of Governors and the University of Windsor Senate for 3 years and 5 years, respectively.
Dr Georgie was appointed by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario to the Board of Ontario Creates in 2021. OC is the largest economic development agency for film and television in Canada, delivering over $3.2B in 2022 production in Ontario alone. Most recently, he served as Chair of the agency's new 5-year Strategic Plan.
His annual attendance of the Academy Awards, in addition to major global film festivals have made for many meaningful experiences.
Originally from Montréal, Dr Georgie holds a PhD in Marketing.
