HDGH’s Regional Children’s Centre launched Assertive Community Treatment Team for Children (ACT-C)
The first of its kind in Canada, ACT-C provides a transdisciplinary, family-centered clinical approach designed to support children, ages 6-12, and their families in their home environment and the community.

HDGH Awarded Platinum Level Gord Smith Healthy Workplace Award
Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare was honoured to have received the PLATINUM level Gord Smith Healthy Workplace Award presented by Working Toward Wellness (WTW) Workplace Wellness Committee. This award recognizes local employers that provide comprehensive workplace wellness programming and demonstrates a strong commitment to improving health by promoting and supporting a comprehensive approach to wellness programming for employees, and ideally, family members and retirees.
Celebrating Nursing Excellence
Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare hosted our 2025 Nursing Awards Ceremony that honoured HDGH Nurses with the Jeanne Mance Extraordinary Nursing Award and the Lori Dupont Bursary.

Windsor Police Services held a gathering to recognize outstanding contributions made by local partners, organizations and citizens in Windsor and Amherstburg. HDGH staff and mobile teams were recognized for our contributions to the community.

IPC completes review of criminal 2023 cyber attack
The Information and Privacy Commissioner (IPC) completed its decision regarding the 2023 criminal ransomware cyberattack which impacted health records and information systems at Bluewater Health, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Erie Shores HealthCare, Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare and Windsor Regional Hospital.

Increased the operating hours of the Mental Health and Addictions Urgent Care Centre located at the Ouellette campus from 12 hours daily to a full 24/7 operation

Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare continued to strengthen our presence in the community and reach clients and patients where they are by attending numerous Community Care Fairs.



More Than Medicine: Specialized Care, Closer to Home launches at WIFF
HDGH partnered with Media Street Productions to document the deeply personal stories of five patients, clients, and families whose lives were forever changed by the hospital’s specialized services. The result is More Than Medicine, a moving documentary that highlights the healing power of compassionate, community-rooted care.

HDGH Working Toward Advancing Standards in Schizophrenia Care
HDGH was proud to participate as one of four national demonstration sites working towards advancing standards in Schizophrenia Care as part of a project led by the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) and Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores).
HDGH launches Compassionate Companions Program
The program is designed to bring comfort, connection, and support to our patients in restorative and palliative care through volunteer connections.
Compassionate Companions will:
- Visit with patients and families, offering conversation and companionship — including matching with patients who speak the same language, so they feel understood and supported.
- Provide respite and relief for caregivers.
- Support patients at the end of life, including assisting with legacy projects.
- Help with small but meaningful comforts such as offering blankets and assisting with meal trays.
- Provide reassurance and a calming presence.

Celebrating Real Employees in New Be Vital Campaign and Recruitment Website
Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare announced the launch of its new Be Vital recruitment campaign, an initiative designed to showcase the meaningful, specialized and community driven work taking place across the organization every day. Building on the momentum of HDGH’s recent More Than Medicine impact film, the Be Vital campaign shifts the focus from patient stories to the people behind them: the vital team whose expertise, compassion and purpose drive exceptional care.

Strengthened support for Indigenous People
As part of our Strategic Initiative of Addressing Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action for Health, HDGH opened the Indigenous Community Space in our Tayfour Building for use by Indigenous patients, visitors, and employees
Continued the planning process with the Ministry of Long-Term Care
The planning for the proposed 192 Long Term-Term Care (LTC) to be built on the hospital campus continued with architects hired.
New HDGH website launches
Designed in conjunction with our Patient and Family Advisory Council, the new HDGH website now boasts a modernized look, simplified navigation, and easy access to information.
