Rob's volunteer experience includes serving on the Board of the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU), sitting on the Windsor-Essex Community Opioid and Substance Strategy (WECOSS) Committee, and the Sun Parlour Female Hockey Association, where he sat on the Board of Directors, coached and held executive positions for over 20 years.
Rob and his wife Michele have been lifelong residents of Windsor/Essex and have one adult child Jessica. Rob spends his spare time golfing, playing hockey, and enjoying time with his granddaughter Emilia.
Meet the Board
HDGH: What motivated you to join HDGH's Board of Directors?
RM: I had been involved in several healthcare-related boards throughout my career and after taking some time off to start and grow my business I felt it was the right time to get involved again. The values of HDGH aligned with what I have been practicing in my profession for years and I felt this Board would be a perfect way for me to give back to the community.
HDGH: What do you believe are the most prominent health needs in our community?
RM: An aging population is shifting the balance of care necessary within the healthcare community. Mental health is a problem in our community that is not getting the care necessary. Addictions are also a problem that has really grown in our community and is at a critical level right now.
HDGH: As a member of the board, how does the board ensure a healthy, equitable community?
RM: Making sure that we continue to follow our mission and values by providing direction to HDGH. Strategically setting the course to continue moving the organization forward as a prominent member of our healthcare community.
