Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare (HDGH) is pleased to share that its long-standing Centre for Problem Gambling and Digital Dependency has officially been renamed the Ontario Centre for Problem Gambling.
This new name reflects the program’s recognized role as a provincial leader in problem gambling treatment and highlights its broad reach in delivering evidence-based, specialized care to patients, clients, and families both locally and across Ontario.

Renaming our program to the Ontario Centre for Problem Gambling accurately reflects our role as a trusted provincial leader while strengthening clarity for patients, families, and referring healthcare partners. While our name is evolving, our commitment remains the same: providing compassionate, expert, and accessible care to everyone who needs it," said Bill Marra, HDGH President and CEO.
The Ontario Centre for Problem Gambling (OCPG) offers a full continuum of specialized services tailored to meet individual needs, including outpatient counselling and bed-based treatment services serving individuals from communities all across Ontario. Recently, OCPG completed its 300th bed-based treatment cycle - an incredible achievement for Ontario’s only funded gambling-specific residential treatment program.
No Disruption to Care or Referrals
This transition is a name change only. There are no disruptions or changes to patient and client care, available services, or program access. The referral process for both outpatient and bed-based treatment remains completely unchanged, and referring partners can continue using their existing referral workflows.
For more than 30 years, the program has evolved to support individuals struggling with problem gambling and digital dependency, helping more than 1,400 people on their recovery journeys.
